北京大學公共衛(wèi)生學院營養(yǎng)與食品衛(wèi)生系教授馬冠生說，兒童肥胖在我國幾乎上升至了大規(guī)模流行的程度(rise to epidemic proportions nationwide)。雖然在肥胖的發(fā)生中，基因起重要作用(genetics play an important role)，但過去十年間，肥胖的快速發(fā)展主要與膳食結構的改變(the change of dietary structure)、身體活動的減少(a decline in physical activity)及不健康飲食行為(unhealthy dietary behaviors)等因素有關。馬冠生教授稱，兒童肥胖已經導致慢性疾病的發(fā)病期提前(childhood obesity has led to chronic diseases occurring at younger age)，超重和肥胖已成為兒童心血管疾病和2型糖尿病的主要風險因素(excess weight and obesity have become major risk factors for childhood cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes)。
