The heart of rainwater utilization is the rainwater storage tank. The ROTEX variocistern was developed against this background as a special rainwater storage tank system that fully meets the requirements of the ideal rain storage tank. ROTEX variocistern is a variable tank system for storing rainwater in buildings. The individual tanks are manufactured in a blowing process using top quality plastic and are therefore completely corrosion-free. ROTEX variocistern is available in tank sizes 750 and 1,000 litres.

variocistern – The opaque water storage tank

If light comes into contact with stored water, this usually initiates a rapid growth of algae and biological substances. These consume the oxygen dissolved in the water. Decaying processes accompanied by a strong odour are the consequence. variocistern is therefore manufactured using opaque plastic. The danger of light-dependent growth of biomass is therefore excluded. The danger of decay and offensive odour is drastically reduced.

Two sizes to choose from

ROTEX variocistern is available in two different sizes:
  • variocistern 750 ltr with a height of 1.60 m
  • variocistern 1,000 ltr with a height of 1.90 m
This means that the existing available room height can be optimally used. All variocistern tanks have the uniform floor space of 0.78 x 0.78 m. This means that variocistern is ideal for both new buildings and existing buildings. There are various options when installing the individual tanks: 
  • In rows, blocks and at an angle. Therefore rainwater storage capacities from 750 ltrs to over 25,000 ltrs can be created

The water storage tank which fits through doors

The individual containers with their compact, square floor space, small dimensions and light weight make transport into the building easier. Narrow stairways and doors or narrow storage rooms are no obstacle for ROTEX variocistern.

The required storage capacity can be calculated using the following diagram, depending on the number or people living in the household and the available roof surface. The storage capacity should be chosen so that a constant supply of rainwater is available for consumption . Experience has shown that rainwater requirements are between 40 – 50 litres per person per day.

Example

4 people x 45 litres  = 180 litres daily rainwater requirement.
